Ceramic Coating Do's and Don'ts

Updated: May 24, 2021

As we all know that ceramic coatings are popping up all over. Coatings offer many benefits to you and your vehicle. Unfortunately, some things need to be cleared up. One thing people need to keep in mind is coatings are not end-all be-all. Any improper care can shorten the life of any coating. But don't let this scare you, we still think it's one of the best things to have on your vehicle. We are going to give you some basics on what they do and what they do not do.

Do

~Coating will make your vehicle much easier to clean.

~Coatings offer SOME level of scratch resistance and marring.

~Coatings offer years of protection.

~Protects against UV rays, oxidation, and harmful contaminants/chemicals.

Now maintaining a coating doesn't require some special magic or tools, but having the right tools and washing methods will keep it's durability and looking it's best. But here are the things that coatings does NOT do.

Don't

~Coatings are NOT scratch proof.

~Does not protect against rock chips.

~Never have to wash your vehicle again.

~Does not protect against water spotting.

~Protect your vehicle from bullets or tanks (just had to add that for fun)

So you see, we try to keep it as realistic as possible when it comes to coatings. This will also help to see if a ceramic coating is right for you (keep a lookout on a new blog about this in the future). We want to make sure you're educated on what they can do and the false claims behind them. If you want a coating installed on your vehicle by an honest, professional installer, or if you have any questions please contact us.
